I just shared this on my personal page, but felt i I just shared this on my personal page, but felt it deserved a spot here too 🫶🏼 This girl. This girl. 🥹 (long post) Watch that last video 😭 It’s taken me a minute to put into words how proud I am to be this girl’s mom, and quite frankly, I won’t be able to. Bella had her first cross country meet and I was NOT prepared for what was about to transpire. She came out of the gate strong and maintained her position for most of the race. Just prior to the finish line there was an area where they were out of view. As other racers finished we knew she would/should be within view and finishing soon. But as each/most racers finished it became clear that she had fallen, or SOMETHING had happened to her. Sure enough, as soon as she came into view her and another little girl had their arms around each other and we knew she was hurt. However, my heart was so thankful that this little girl stopped to help her finish. But the closer they got we realized it wasn’t her, but the other little girl that was hurt. At 11 years old, she knows what this life is about. She knows what’s most important. She knows what God expects from us. It’s not about winning. It’s not about putting our needs above all others. It’s about being a good human and sacrificing our own wants and desires and exhibit Christlike behavior. As a mother my parenting style and goal has always been to raise good humans. Period. Parenting is the HARDEST dang thing I’ve ever done! You never think you’re doing “enough”. But every once in a while a tender mercy is thrown your way. My heart is so full. And this is a moment that I hope she never forgets, or underestimates the value of. I know I won’t.
Y’all, sometimes the adversary comes at you HARD Y’all, sometimes the adversary comes at you HARD! But with faith and prayer comes clarity and peace within my heart. 🙏🏼 Putting yourself, your family, your work out there on a public platform is an extremely vulnerable thing for any of us to do, and it comes with risks. I’ll never understand why some people exploit that vulnerability and take advantage of the trust you’ve built with others. Never!! And not wanting to see someone succeed is a “them” issue that I can’t allow my heart to carry the burden of. But what I love about this community is the unwavering love and support we show each other, and THAT’S what I’m choosing to take away from all of this.
